Regina-Specific Requirements:

- All covered decks require permits regardless of height

What TUDS Handles for You:
- All permit applications with City of Regina

- Must not create safety hazards
- Cannot be used as living space
- Must comply with setback requirements
Regina Deck vs. Shed Rules:
- Decks: Permit required if over 2 feet high or covered
- Sheds: Permit required if over 10 square metres
- Both need development permits when permits required
TUDS Expertise: We understand all Regina building requirements and can guide you through outdoor project permits during consultation.
Regina Deck Setback Requirements
Regina deck setbacks vary by zoning, but general guidelines apply:
Typical Regina Setbacks:
- Must comply with City of Regina zoning bylaws
- Cannot encroach on utility easements
- Setbacks vary by neighborhood and lot size
- May require neighbor agreements for close builds
YES - A quality deck adds 5-10% to your Regina home's value:
Regina Market Benefits:
- High demand for outdoor spaces in Regina neighborhoods
- Appeals strongly to families in Harbour Landing, Lakeridge, and The Greens
- Extended entertaining season with proper design
High-Value Regina Areas:
Harbour Landing, The Greens, and Lakeridge homes consistently see highest deck value returns due to neighbourhood demographics and buyer expectations.
Composite decking provides superior longevity in Regina's harsh prairie conditions.
Regina Climate Challenges:
- Extreme temperature variations (-35°C to +35°C)
- High winds require durable materials
- Hail storms damage inferior products
- Dry summers and wet springs
