The 6-foot screen is the surgical strike of the HOFT lineup. HOFT Privacy Rail 44-inch

Deck-height privacy where 8 feet is overkill and code asks for 42". Glass infill optional.

The 44" rail is HOFT's deck-edge answer — privacy that meets typical 36"–42" code height for residential decks while still blocking sightlines from the patio next door. Same slide-in system as the larger kits, with one bonus: HOFT publishes a Glass Sealer Kit (6mm or 10mm) so you can swap a board for a tempered glass panel on selected sections — half privacy, half view.

Pairs cleanly with composite or wood decking. If you've already got an aluminum railing on the rest of the deck, HOFT 44" reads as an intentional design move at the spots where you actually want privacy — not a mismatch.

One HOFT 6' privacy screen section, dropped on the side that's exposed. Two end posts plus 1x6 boards (yours or our composite kit). Total project — usually a few hundred dollars and an afternoon. Yes. The HOFT 8' fence kit is the property-line answer. End / line / corner posts so any property shape works. Compatible with 1x6 wood, 5/4 cedar, or HOFT's composite boards (Coal Black, Walnut, Harvest Brown, Coastal Greige). The aluminum-post system means you're not replacing rotten 4x4s in five years — concrete the posts once, slide the boards, walk away. Exactly that — HOFT 44" rail, with the Glass Sealer Kit accessory. Pick which sections of the deck you want solid (board infill) and which you want see-through (6mm or 10mm tempered glass), all on the same post system. HOFT Solutions is a Canadian aluminum privacy-fence and railing manufacturer based in Laval, Quebec. Their patented slide-in post system lets you build a privacy fence, screen, or 44" rail without nailing or screwing individual boards — you slide them into integrated rail channels with built-in spacers. Posts are 3" x 3" powder-coated black aluminum. TUDS is an authorized HOFT dealer in Saskatoon and Regina.

The board-to-post connection is no-fastener — boards slide into the aluminum rail channel and the integrated spacers hold them in place. You'll still need fasteners to secure the post itself: 3/8" concrete anchors if you're mounting to a slab or deck, or concrete pour for in-ground installs (3 ft deep × 9 in diameter, per HOFT's spec). Once posts are anchored, the fence builds in a fraction of the time of nailing pickets.

1x6 wood (cedar, treated, hardwood), 5/4 wood, OR HOFT's own 1x6 composite board kit. The post rail is sized for both 1" and 5/4" board thicknesses. HOFT's composite boards come in Coal Black, Walnut, Harvest Brown, and Coastal Greige (4-pack kits). Bring your own lumber if you prefer cedar or want to match an existing fence stain.

5-year warranty on paint (powder coat) and parts (aluminum hardware) per HOFT's published terms, plus a 30-day window for manufacturing defects. (Warranty figures cited from third-party retailer listings — HOFT does not publish a public warranty PDF on hoftsolutions.com as of 2026-04-25; numbers flagged for verification.) If you're a TUDS customer and have a warranty question, call either store and we'll help you navigate HOFT's process — we don't file claims for you, but we'll get you to the right starting point.

Three heights: 44 inches (deck-height railing — meets typical residential code), 6 feet (modular privacy screens — patio, hot tub, AC), and 8 feet (full property-line privacy fence). All three use the same patented slide-in post system; choose by what privacy job you're solving, not by aesthetic preference.

Yes — on the 44" rail. HOFT publishes a Glass Sealer Kit (173" EPDM extrusion, 6mm or 10mm thickness) that lets you swap any board section for a tempered glass panel. Mix solid privacy and clear-view sections on the same post run. The 6' screen and 8' fence don't have a published glass option — they're designed for solid privacy.

Most HOFT post kits and the 8' privacy fence are tagged oversized at TUDS — they ship LTL freight or are available for pickup at either Saskatoon or Regina. Accessories (planters, hooks, base plate covers, glass sealer kits) are standard parcel. Call either yard for an LTL quote on your project to your address — no flat shipping rate published.
