Camo Marksman + DRIVE tools. The alignment-and-drive system behind every clean Camo deck.

The Marksman Pro is the manual-feed clamp + screw guide that turned hidden-fastener installs into a one-person job — the heavy-duty tool that drives Camo edge screws at the right side angle, every time, with built-in gap spacing. The cordless DRIVE and ClipDRIVE are the contractor stand-up versions of the same idea. We stock the full family at both yards: Pro / Pro X1 / Pro X2 / Pro NB guide options, the DRIVE three-mode kit, the ClipDRIVE for clip-only installs, and every replacement bit, hardwood pre-drill, and collated screw they consume.

Meet the Marksman family

Six tools. One mechanic. Hidden fasteners, made repeatable.

Every Marksman variant uses the same idea — clamp the board, drive the fastener at the right side angle, repeat. The Pro is the manual-feed version; X1 / X2 / NB swap in different gap or board-width guides; DRIVE and ClipDRIVE are the cordless stand-up versions for contractors. Pick the one that matches your project size, board type, and budget.

Marksman Pro

The manual-feed clamp + dual screw guide. Heavy-duty, contractor-grade, DIY-friendly price. Ships with the Pro Guide for grooved composite + PVC.

The Marksman Pro is the original Camo alignment tool — the one that turned hidden-fastener installs from a two-person, three-elbow operation into a one-person job. Clamp the board, position the dual screw guides, drive both sides at the correct angle, advance to the next board. Built-in spacing block sets the gap automatically. Ships with the Pro Guide: 5-1/4 in. to 5-3/4 in. board widths, 3/16 in. (5mm) gap, designed for grooved composite + PVC (also works on grooved hardwood and cedar). Heavy-duty steel frame, contractor-grade. Pairs with your own drill (corded or cordless) — never an impact driver. Compatible with Trex, Fiberon, Eva-Last, Deckorators grooved boards.

Same frame

Marksman Pro X1 / X2

Same Marksman Pro frame, different gap. X1 = 1/16 in. for treated lumber. X2 = 1/8 in. for capped composite. Pick the gap your boards specify.

The Marksman Pro X1 and X2 are the same tool as the Pro — same clamp, same dual screw guides, same heavy-duty steel — sold with a different gap-spec guide block. Pro X1 Guide sets a 1/16 in. (1.58mm) gap, designed for treated lumber that shrinks as it dries (a tighter starting gap opens up to ~1/4 in. as the wood loses moisture). Pro X2 Guide sets a 1/8 in. (3mm) gap — the default for many capped composite manufacturers. If you've already got a Marksman Pro, you can buy just the alternate guide block. If you don't, buy the Marksman Pro variant pre-fitted with the gap your boards spec.

Camo Marksman Pro NB Guide — narrow-board specialty guide block fitting 3.25 to 5 inch deck boards including treated lumber cedar hardwood composite and PVC
Narrow Board Tier
<5 in.

Marksman Pro NB

The narrow-board specialty. Fits 3-1/4 to 5 in. boards — treated, cedar, hardwood, composite, PVC. Same Marksman Pro frame, different guide.

If your deck boards are narrower than 5-1/4 in., the standard Pro / X1 / X2 guides won't fit. The Pro NB Guide is the Marksman accessory designed for narrow boards: any 3-1/4 in. (83mm) to 5 in. (127mm) board, automatic 3/16 in. (5mm) gap. Common applications: 1×4 cedar (3-1/2 in. actual), 5/4×4 treated (3-1/2 in.), narrow hardwood like ipe at 4 in., narrower composite SKUs from Eva-Last and others. Same tool body as the Pro — same clamp, same dual side-angle drive — just a guide block sized for narrower stock. Buy as a complete Marksman Pro NB, or buy the NB Guide separately if you already own a Marksman frame.

Camo DRIVE cordless stand-up deck fastening tool — three quick-change guides for edge screws clip screws and face screws, attaches to standard drill, contractor-grade with 1-year warranty
Pro tool Tier
Stand-up · 3 modes

DRIVE

Stand-up cordless. Three quick-change modes — edge screws, clip screws, face screws. Attaches to your drill. Saves your knees on multi-deck builds.

The Camo DRIVE is the contractor productivity tool. Cordless stand-up frame attaches to your drill (no impact drivers), three quick-change fastening guides handle the full Camo install: edge mode drives Camo collated edge screws (1000 ct, 2-3/8 in.) directly through the side of the board for a fastener-free surface; clip mode runs Camo EdgeClips, EdgeXClips, or WedgeClips (paired with the same collated edge screws); face mode drives the Camo collated face screws (1000 ct, 3 in., green or tan trim head) for square-edge boards or top-down installs. Adjustable handle for any height crew. Heavy-duty contractor-grade, 1-year tool warranty. The right buy if decks are a line item on your invoice — pays for itself on build #2.

Stand-up

ClipDRIVE

Stand-up clip fastener. Lighter, simpler, narrower scope than DRIVE — clip-only installs with EdgeClip / WedgeClip / EdgeXClip. Same back-saving ergonomics.

The ClipDRIVE is the simpler, clip-only sibling of the DRIVE — same stand-up height-adjustable handle, weighted nose that targets the screw head automatically, contractor-grade frame. Pairs with Camo EdgeClips, EdgeXClips, or WedgeClips (paired with their stainless edge screws — 90 / 450 / 900 ct packs from the Camo Edge fasteners hub). T15 driver bit included. Tool attaches to your drill — never an impact driver. Camo Marksman driver bits and DRIVE replacement bits — T15 star drive for grooved boards and edge screws T20 for face screws sold in 2-pack with built-in shoulder for automatic depth control
Companion Tier

Bits + replacement parts

The bits the tools need. Marksman driver bits (grooved vs solid), DRIVE replacement bits (T15 + T20), and the hardwood pre-drill.

The consumable side of the tool family — bits wear out, especially on hardwood. Marksman driver bit — T15 star, 3 in. (76mm), built-in shoulder for automatic depth-of-drive, sold as a 2-pack. Critical: the bit for grooved boards has a higher shoulder than the bit for square-edge / solid boards — the two are not interchangeable, and using the wrong one damages your boards. Buy the right one with your screws. DRIVE replacement bit (2-pack) — T15 for edge / clip fastening or T20 for face fastening, sized to fit the DRIVE tool. Hardwood pre-drill bit — the dense-tropical-decking pilot bit used before fastening any ipe / cumaru / similar board.

"Marksman Pro vs Pro X1 — what's the actual difference?"
Shane · Co-owner
Shane · Co-owner

Same Marksman frame. Same clamp, same dual screw guides, same heavy-duty steel. Different gap. The Pro Guide ships with 3/16 in. (5mm) auto-spacing — designed for grooved composite + PVC. The Pro X1 Guide sets 1/16 in. (1.58mm) — designed for treated lumber, which shrinks as it dries (a tighter starting gap opens up to ~1/4 in. as the wood loses moisture). The Pro X2 Guide sets 1/8 in. (3mm), which is what most capped composite manufacturers actually spec. Read the back of your decking box: that's the gap you want, that's the guide you buy. The frame is the same. If you already own a Marksman, you can buy just the alternate guide block.

"Do I need DRIVE, or is Marksman Pro enough?"
Wade · Co-owner
Wade · Co-owner

Marksman Pro = manual-feed clamp + screw guide. You bring your drill, you screw each side, the clamp does the alignment. Right answer for one deck — DIY-friendly price, professional result, you can sell it on Marketplace after. DRIVE = stand-up cordless tool that runs collated screws or clips at full standing height. Right answer if you're a contractor, building more than one deck a year, or your knees are voting. Same end result (fastener-free deck surface), different speed and ergonomics. Don't put either on an impact driver — Camo specifies standard drill only, and an impact will void warranty.

Shop DRIVE
"ClipDRIVE — when is it worth the price over the Marksman Pro?"
Wade · Co-owner
Wade · Co-owner

Two questions decide it. (1) Are you doing more than one deck this year? (2) Are you face-screwing anywhere — stairs, fascia, picture-frame border? If both answers are no — Marksman Pro is enough. If you're doing multiple grooved-only clip installs and your back is the bottleneck, ClipDRIVE saves you real labour without paying for the DRIVE's edge / face modes you won't use. If you're doing the full Camo system (edge fastening + clips + face screws), skip ClipDRIVE and go straight to DRIVE — three modes for one tool spend.

FAQ

The questions we get — before the quote.

Don't see yours? Call either store and one of our Escape Artists will help.

Same Marksman frame. Different gap-spec guide block. The standard Pro Guide ships with 3/16 in. (5mm) auto-spacing — designed for grooved composite + PVC, also works on hardwood and cedar. The Pro X1 Guide sets 1/16 in. (1.58mm), designed for treated lumber that shrinks as it dries. The Pro X2 Guide sets 1/8 in. (3mm), the gap most capped-composite manufacturers actually spec. Buy the Marksman Pro variant pre-fitted with the gap your boards spec, or — if you already own a Marksman frame — buy just the alternate guide block. Same drill, same clamp, same dual side-angle drive, just a different spacing tab.

Marksman Pro is enough for a single-deck DIY project. Manual-feed, you bring your drill, you screw each side, you bend down each board. Cheap enough to justify for one build, easy to sell after. DRIVE is the right buy if (1) you're a contractor, (2) you're building more than one deck a year, or (3) you're doing the full Camo system (edge + clip + face screws — DRIVE handles all three modes). Same end result, faster install, much easier on your back. Pays for itself on build #2 against the Marksman in labour-time alone.

Two questions. (1) Are you doing more than one grooved-deck install per season? (2) Is your install pure clip-fastening (WedgeClip, EdgeClip, EdgeXClip) with no face-screwing? If both answers are yes, ClipDRIVE saves you real labour. You get DRIVE-style stand-up ergonomics, a couple hundred bucks less spend, and you don't pay for edge / face modes you won't use. If you're also face-screwing stairs, fascia, or a picture-frame border, skip ClipDRIVE — DRIVE's three modes cover everything for one tool spend.

The Pro NB Guide is sized for any deck board between 3-1/4 in. (83mm) and 5 in. (127mm) wide. The standard Pro / X1 / X2 guides only fit boards 5-1/4 to 5-3/4 in. — so anything narrower needs the NB. Common applications: 1×4 cedar (3-1/2 in. actual), 5/4×4 treated (3-1/2 in.), narrower hardwoods like ipe or cumaru in 4 in., narrow grooved-composite SKUs, and picture-frame perimeter boards on a deck where the field uses standard width. Same Marksman tool body — just buy the NB Guide separately if you already own a Marksman.

Yes — the Camo Marksman family is engineered for the leading grooved deck boards, which includes every grooved composite TUDS stocks: Trex Transcend / Enhance / Signature, Fiberon GoodLife and Sanctuary, Eva-Last Apex PLUS / Pioneer / Infinity IS, Deckorators Voyage / Vault / Frontier, and MoistureShield. The Marksman drives Camo edge screws into the side of the board's groove — same mechanism on every grooved profile. Pick the guide block that matches your board's gap spec (read the back of the box). For non-grooved square-edge boards, use the DRIVE in face-screw mode with the green or tan collated face screws.

No — TUDS does not rent tools. Both Marksman Pro and DRIVE / ClipDRIVE are sold outright. The Marksman Pro is at a price point that's reasonable for a single-deck DIYer to buy, use, and either keep, sell on Marketplace, or lend to a friend. The DRIVE / ClipDRIVE are productivity tools priced for contractors who'll amortize them over multiple builds. If renting is what you need, your local equipment-rental yard is the right call — or buy the Marksman, sell it after.

Honest answer: a clamp-and-guide tool roughly doubles to triples your install pace vs hand-driving Camo edge screws board-by-board. The clamp does the alignment for you (no chasing the board left/right), the dual screw guides set the side-angle automatically, and the built-in spacing tab eliminates the gap-spacer-block step. Stand-up DRIVE / ClipDRIVE roughly quadruple-to-sextuple the pace — most of that is posture (not bending) and collated-screw feed (no per-screw reload). Camo's claim of 5x faster install for the DRIVE is plausible based on field reports. Either way, the bigger return is on technique consistency: the result looks more professional than free-handing.

The Camo Marksman driver bit (T15 star, 3 in. / 76mm, sold as a 2-pack with built-in shoulder for automatic depth-of-drive). Critical detail: there is one Marksman bit for grooved boards and a different Marksman bit for square-edge / solid boardsthe bit for grooved boards has a higher shoulder than the bit for solid boards. They are not interchangeable. Buy the right one with your screws. The DRIVE uses its own replacement bits (T15 for edge / clip, T20 for face). For dense tropical decking like ipe, also pick up the Camo hardwood pre-drill bit.

The cordless tools — DRIVE and ClipDRIVE — both carry a 1-year tool warranty from Camo (National Nail). The Marksman Pro is a heavy-duty contractor-grade frame; manufacturer support runs through National Nail. Important: an impact driver voids the warranty on any Camo tool — Camo specifies standard drill only. If a Camo tool fails on a TUDS-purchased project and you need to start a claim, call either store and we'll walk you through what Camo will ask for (proof of purchase, drill type used, install pattern). Camo / National Nail owns the claim process; we help you navigate it.
