Add Bella Turf Turf Freshener for a routine spray-down every couple of weeks and a Saskatoon dog yard stays as fresh as a clean concrete patio. Skip either step and you'll get the smell people fear.

Light snow brushes off with a stiff broom or a leaf blower. Heavier snow you can shovel — use a plastic-edge shovel (not metal) and don't dig into the fibre. Many Saskatoon customers just leave winter snow on top of the turf; it melts off in the spring without harm. Avoid salt or ice-melt chemicals on the fibre — fresh water rinsing only. Pet owners with active winter dog runs should keep the high-use lane cleared so urine drains rather than pooling on top of a frozen surface.

Yes — that's exactly what the Turf Cloud Flow underlay is for. It's a drainage-channelled foam pad that goes down over the deck boards (or over concrete) first, then a residential turf goes over top with seam tape. Drainage runs through the underlay and off the deck the way it normally would. We don't recommend installing turf directly on bare wood deck boards — moisture trapped under the backing will rot the deck. Always use Turf Cloud Flow (or equivalent) as the moisture-management layer over wood. Pairs especially well over a Trex RainEscape dry-deck system.

No — properly installed Bella Turf drains as fast or faster than a natural lawn. The latex backing on residential turf has perforations every few inches; the pet-system backing is fully permeable across its whole surface. The variable that matters most is base prep: a properly-prepared compacted gravel subgrade with the right slope drains tens of inches per hour. If you're seeing pooling on a Bella Turf install, it's the base — not the turf. We walk every customer through the base spec before they buy.

Yes — Tour Turf, Eagle Putt, and Country Club are short-pile (~12–15mm), high-stitch-density nylon designed specifically for true ball roll. Sand-infilled to the right depth (we'll tell you how much based on your green size), the roll is tournament-spec — fast, true, breaks the way the green's contour says it should. Most backyard putting greens we install come in at a Stimp reading of 9–11, which is in line with a real practice green.

Both work. A reasonably handy homeowner can DIY a small residential lawn or balcony install in a weekend with the Bella Turf install guide and the right base prep. We stock the seam tape, infill, and tools at both yards. For larger residential lawns (over ~600 sq ft), pet systems with serpentine shapes, or putting greens — most customers prefer a contractor because the base prep and seam alignment are the make-or-break details.
