Pickets click into the rail channel — no individual picket screws, no painting, no welding, no waiting. The deck-gate add-on most people forget until they're standing at the top of the stairs.

The Regal gate kit ships as a complete package — rails, hinge post, latch post, pickets, hinges, latch. Everything you need for a code-compliant deck gate without sourcing individual components. Fits openings up to 48" and is trimmable down for smaller spans.

TUDS stocks the 42" gate kit (the height required for elevated decks under NBC) in three colours: White, Textured Black, and Yard Bronze. The 36" height is available to order if you have a low-deck situation that calls for it.

National Building Code minimums: 36" for decks within 600mm of grade (about 2 ft off the ground), and 42" for anything higher. Most Prairie decks sit on standard 8-foot frames, which puts them firmly into 42" territory. Regal stocks both heights — when in doubt, go 42 and you'll never fail an inspection for being too tall. No electrician needed. Regal's LED light strips drop into the railing channel between the pickets (clear picket spacers handle the spacing) and connect to a low-voltage controller via patch cords. Three brightness settings, plug-and-play, no wire splicing, no permit. We stock 69 light strips and 10 controllers at the Saskatoon and Regina yards today — same day, no special order. CrystalRail takes the same idea further: LEDs are inside the mounting bases, illuminating the glass edges from below.

Picket and glass are mostly an upfront decision. The Regal picket system supports 6mm tempered glass infill panels via gaskets — a hybrid that opens up the sightline without stepping all the way to CrystalRail. CrystalRail itself is a frameless 10mm system with its own bolt-through mounting plates, so it isn't a retrofit on top of picket. If budget is tight now but the long-term goal is glass, run the picket posts and add infill panels later. If a frameless view is the goal, plan CrystalRail from day one.

Yes — and we'd tell you if it wasn't. Regal is Canadian-made (Delta, BC) and runs on a patented Lock-In-Picket snap-fit system that meaningfully cuts install time on Prairie builds. The structural warranty is 20 years on aluminum and 10 years on the RailCoat powder coat. Where Regal really separates from Vista and Fortress is the LED system — Regal is the only aluminum railing brand on our floor with a plug-and-play LED kit that works with both picket and CrystalRail glass. If you want the deepest catalog (picket + glass infill + frameless + gates + LED), Regal is the answer. If you want cable railing, see Vista instead.

Under the National Building Code: 36" minimum if the walking surface is less than 600mm (about 2 ft) above grade, and 42" minimum for anything higher. Most Prairie decks sit on standard 8-foot treated-lumber frames, which puts them in 42" territory. Regal stocks both 36" and 42" posts and rails at TUDS. When in doubt, default to 42 — you'll never fail an inspection for being taller than required.

The Lock-In-Picket system was designed around one insight: the slowest part of aluminum railing installation is screwing every individual picket in place. Regal eliminates that step — pickets snap into the rail channel. Posts come pre-welded with brackets. A medium deck section that takes 6 to 8 hours with most competing systems takes 2 to 3 hours with Regal. Regal carries a 20-year prorated limited structural warranty on aluminum components, a 10-year prorated limited warranty on the RailCoat powder-coat finish, and a 1-year warranty on tempered glass and LED components (both 6mm infill and CrystalRail 10mm). Warranties are prorated — full coverage in the early years, declining over time. The structural warranty is administered directly by Regal Ideas; TUDS will help you understand the process and connect you with their warranty team.

Yes — TUDS is the stocked Regal Ideas dealer in both cities. We carry the full aluminum picket system in all five RailCoat colours, CrystalRail glass panels and hardware, gate kits in 42" White / Textured Black / Yard Bronze, the complete LED system (light strips, controllers, patch cords, clear spacers), and all accessories. Most competing dealers either don't stock Regal or carry only a fraction of the line — when you buy from TUDS, the product is in the warehouse the same day you order.

No — Regal does not offer a cable railing system. Their open-view story is CrystalRail, the 10mm frameless tempered glass system with integrated LED bases. If cable railing is the brief, TUDS carries Vista Railing, which has a cable option. Cable and frameless glass serve different design aesthetics: cable gives a thin, low-visual-weight look with some view; CrystalRail gives an almost-invisible sightline with more visual impact.
