Cutek Colourtones 3oz Tint

Description

Cutek Extreme is sold clear, which allows the wood to age gracefully into a beautiful silver patina on exposure to sunlight. However, if you’d like to retain the natural freshly oiled colour of the wood you’re working with, you can simply add a Colourtone to the clear oil. Choose one of our Colourtones which have been specifically developed to closely match many popular wood species. For best results, select a Colourtone that stays close to the natural shade of the wood species being coated.

MIXING: Mix 1 to 2 tins of Colourtone per gallon of Cutek Extreme. Stir well after adding and during use as tint will settle. Depth of colour may be increased by adding up to 1 more tin of Colourtone per gallon.

When selecting from the range of Colourtones allow for the wood colour to naturally lighten during the first three to eight months after application, as natural weathering and leaching occurs. Colour will last longer on rusticated, or band sawn lumber, and may be maximized by including the Colourtone in all subsequent applications of Cutek Extreme. If Colourtoned Cutek has faded over time, wash wood with Cutek ProClean and apply a single coat of Colourtoned Cutek Extreme to restore the original look of the protected lumber.

Best treatment for decking and cedar siding I've found

Other treatments darkened with age but Cutek doesn't. It's left my Cumare deck a beautiful brown for up to 3 years without reapplying, I also use it on a smaller cedar porch and on the cedar clapboards on the house and both look great.

great product and company

It's the second time i purchased the Cutek Extreme Exterior Wood Protection Oil.
I used it on my treated deck planks and on my untreated cedar fencing. It covered about 400 sqft, looks so great, and time will tell if i choose the right product.

Too early to tell but overpackaged

In today's world, excessive packaging is causing literally millions of unnecessary truck train plane and ship trips. This is so bad the world could remove 30% of global warming gasses by forcing manufacturers to have containers 95% full. The products I bought were packaged with Styrofoam peanuts. Replace with paper please, and minimize your packaging so 95% of your product fills the package.

Thank you for the review and bringing attention to the packaging. We used to use less packaging, and had numerous instances of the couriers damaging the boxes which would cause the lids to pop off the stain cans and spill the contents in the box. In spite of can clips being installed, and attempts to make claims through the couriers, it continued to happen - so we had to start packaging with a double barrier to ensure protection of the contents. We will continue to explore alternative eco-friendly packaging options. We currently re-use as much packaging and peanuts as we can when our vendors ship to use with those products. Again, thank you for looking out for our planet!
