Trex decking in Canada, fully refreshed for the 2026 season
Trex is the most-searched composite decking brand in Canada, and the line-up has changed a lot since 2022. This 2026 overview covers every Trex collection currently available to Canadian buyers — Transcend Lineage, Transcend, Enhance Naturals, Enhance Basics, Select, and Signature — with 2026 pricing, the colours we actually keep in stock at TUDS, lead times for prairie delivery, and honest comparisons against Eva-Last, Deckorators, and Fiberon. What's changed for Trex in 2026
If the last time you shopped Trex was 2022, a lot has moved. Here's the short version of what's different this year before we get into the line-by-line breakdown.
- New flagship line. Trex Transcend Lineage is now the premium tier, and the legacy Transcend Tropicals and Earth Tones colourways have been consolidated into the current Transcend and Lineage offerings.
- Colour range shift. Several 2022-era colours have been retired. TUDS-stocked Trex colours for 2026 are listed in the colour section below; anything not on that list is either special-order or no longer available in Canada.
- Warranty updates. Trex's residential fade and stain warranty terms were revised in 2024. Always check the current warranty document before quoting a customer.
- Canadian pricing. Pricing has moved meaningfully with USD exchange and tariff classification — board-foot cost is higher in 2026 than it was in 2022. We publish current numbers in the Trex pricing article.
- Install hardware. Trex Hideaway is still the recommended hidden fastener for grooved boards. TUDS stocks it alongside Camo-compatible alternatives.
Every Trex line available in Canada, explained
Trex currently sells six line families to Canadian buyers. They stack from entry to ultra-premium, with the biggest performance jumps happening between Enhance and Transcend, and again between Transcend and Signature.
Trex Enhance Basics — the entry tier
Enhance Basics is Trex's entry-level capped composite. It replaced any 2022-era mentions of "Trex Select" as the Canadian entry grade. Wood-flour core with recycled plastic, 3-sided cap, straight-grain surface, limited colour palette. Good for budget-driven projects where composite-over-wood is the main goal.
- Core: wood-flour + recycled plastic, capped on 3 sides
- Warranty: 25-year residential limited (structural + fade/stain)
- Best fit: value-first builds, secondary decks, rental properties
Trex Enhance Naturals — entry-plus
Enhance Naturals is a step up from Basics — same capped-composite family, but with deeper grain, multi-tonal colour blends, and a slightly richer walking surface. This is where most Canadian homeowners land when they want "real Trex" without the Transcend price tag. Foggy Wharf, Whidbey, and Toasted Sand are the three Naturals colours we see move fastest prairie-wide.
- Core: wood-flour + recycled plastic, capped
- Warranty: 25-year residential limited
- Best fit: mainstream residential decks with a step-up appearance
Trex Select — mid-tier (confirm current lineup)
Trex has restructured the middle of the line-up more than once. Select has traditionally sat between Enhance and Transcend. If Select is still in the 2026 Canadian line card, treat it as the mid-tier capped composite; if it's been absorbed into Enhance Naturals, point buyers there instead.
Trex Transcend — the premium workhorse
Transcend is the Trex line you see on most "premium composite" builds — the one with deep colour, symmetrical 4-sided capping, and the colour depth that made Trex famous. Rocky Harbor, Spiced Rum, Island Mist, Havana Gold, Tiki Torch, and Lava Rock are the Transcend colours most recognized by Canadian buyers. 25-year residential structural warranty plus 25-year fade and stain.
- Core: wood-flour composite with symmetrical 4-sided cap
- Warranty: 25-year structural + 25-year fade/stain (residential)
- Best fit: premium residential, most south-prairie backyards choosing for look and warranty
Trex Transcend Lineage — the heat-mitigating premium
Lineage is specifically marketed as heat-mitigating — its cap reflects more solar radiation so the board runs cooler underfoot than equivalent dark Transcend colours. In Regina and Saskatoon, with long clear-sky summer days and south-facing yards baking from noon onward, the Lineage line makes a real difference if you want a darker colour but don't want scorching deck boards.
Trex Signature — ultra-premium, realistic grain
Signature is the top of the Trex ladder — the line they benchmark against PVC premium products like TimberTech AZEK and Eva-Last Pioneer. Deep realistic grain, premium cap, and warranty protection at the top of Trex's range. Not every Signature colour stocks in Canada — confirm availability with us before specifying.

Trex vs. Eva-Last, Deckorators, and Fiberon
An honest cross-brand read from the showroom floor. We stock and install all four.
| Attribute | Trex | Eva-Last | Deckorators | Fiberon |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core material | Wood-flour + recycled plastic, capped | Bamboo fibre + PVC | Surestone mineral (Voyage/Vista) or capped WPC | Capped composite, PVC on premium tiers |
| Heat retention on dark colours | Medium–high on standard Transcend; reduced on Lineage | Lower (bamboo + foamed-PVC) | Lower on Surestone mineral core | Medium |
| Structural warranty (residential) | 25 yr Enhance/Transcend; up to 50 yr Signature/Lineage | 25–30 yr | 25–50 yr | 25–50 yr |
| Distinctive angle | Largest North American brand recognition; 95% recycled content | Bamboo-based, cooler surface, Prairie-tested | Mineral core — lighter, water-resistant, freeze-thaw resilient | Fortune Brands supply stability; PermaTech cap; strong mid-tier value |
| Canadian availability | Authorized dealer network; US colours not all stocked | Prairie-wide through TUDS | Stocked through TUDS (Voyage + others) | Stocked lines differ from US catalogue |
Where Trex wins: brand recognition, colour variety at the Transcend tier, widest dealer network in North America. Where competitors win: Eva-Last on surface temperature and sustainability narrative, Deckorators on Prairie freeze-thaw performance thanks to the mineral core, Fiberon on entry-mid value pricing with PermaTech cap.
For the deeper cross-brand reads: Eva-Last vs. Trex and the Deckorators brand hub.

Hidden fasteners for Trex boards
Trex grooved boards are designed for a hidden-fastener install. Two systems work at TUDS:
- Trex Hideaway — the manufacturer-specified clip for grooved Trex boards. Keeps warranty alignment straightforward.
- Camo Edge Clip / Camo Edge X Metal — third-party clip systems we stock; Edge X is the move for steel-frame builds.
Square-edge Trex boards face-fasten with colour-matched composite screws or a plug-and-screw system. For a full pass on under-deck systems that pair with Trex, see our ZipUp vs. RainEscape vs. Dexerdry guide.

Frequently asked questions
Is Trex sold in Canada in 2026?
Yes. Trex has an authorized Canadian dealer network, and TUDS is a Regina + Saskatoon authorized dealer. Canadian colour availability is narrower than the US catalogue — not every US colour ships north of the border, and some have been retired since 2022.
What's the difference between Trex Enhance and Trex Transcend?
Enhance is the entry-to-entry-plus tier with a 3-sided cap and a lighter wood-flour composition. Transcend is the premium tier with a symmetrical 4-sided cap, deeper colour palette, and a 25-year fade/stain warranty. For most prairie residential decks, Transcend is the step-up buyers notice most.
Does Trex decking get hot in the sun?
Standard Trex composite boards (wood-flour core) run warmer than mineral-core Deckorators or bamboo-core Eva-Last, especially in dark Transcend colours like Lava Rock or Spiced Rum. The Lineage line is specifically engineered to run cooler. If your deck faces south or west with no shade, choose a lighter colour or specify Lineage.
How does Trex hold up in Saskatchewan winters?
Capped composite resists moisture and doesn't rot like wood. It handles freeze-thaw when installed with correct gapping and substructure. Always follow Trex's cold-weather gapping spec — end-gaps need to widen the colder it is on install day.
What is Trex made of?
Approximately 95% recycled content — reclaimed wood fibre plus recycled plastic film. That recycled-content story is one of Trex's biggest marketing claims and is supported by published sustainability data.
Is the Trex warranty transferable?
Partially — typically one transfer with a reduced remaining term. Download the current warranty PDF before closing on a home or quoting a buyer.
What joist spacing does Trex require?
16 inches on-centre for residential straight-lay installation. Drop to 12 inches on-centre for diagonal (45°) installs and for stair treads. Snow-load and drift zones are cheap places to tighten further than the manufacturer minimum.
Can I see Trex samples at The Ultimate Deck Shop?
Yes — both our Regina and Saskatoon showrooms keep current Trex colour boards for every Canadian-stocked line. Mail-in samples are available too — the samples are free, shipping is at cost.
Is Trex more expensive than Deckorators or Fiberon?
Depends on tier. Enhance Basics is entry-priced and competes with Deckorators Frontier and Fiberon Good Life. Transcend is premium and competes with Deckorators Voyage. Signature and Lineage sit at the top of the Trex line and often price above Voyage. For exact 2026 numbers, request an estimator quote.
