Kool-Ray Pillar Straight Section 42"

The Kool-Ray Pillar Straight Section is a fully pre-assembled aluminum railing panel designed for code-compliant 42" guard heights — the standard for raised decks, balconies, and second-storey installs across Canada.

Built from 100% extruded aluminum and finished with a baked-enamel powder coat applied via electrostatic process, every section is corrosion-resistant, fade-proof, and engineered to outlast wood, vinyl, and composite alternatives without ever needing paint, stain, or sealant.

What's in the section

• Top & bottom rail — extruded aluminum channel, pre-drilled for spindles
• Pre-installed ¾" × ¾" square spindles at code-compliant ≤4" centre-to-centre spacing (NBC 9.8.8.5 / IRC R312.1.3 — no 4" sphere can pass through)
• Length: available in 4', 5', 6', and 8'
• Height: 42" — meets code for raised decks ≥30" above grade

Finish & durability

• 100% extruded aluminum — sturdier than PVC or wood, will not warp, crack, or splinter
• Baked-enamel electrostatic finish — bonded at the molecular level, resists chipping and UV fade
• Maintenance-free — never needs paint, stain, or sealant
• Available in Black Pebble (textured matte) and White (gloss)

Installation

Pre-assembled at the factory — no cutting, no spindle alignment, no per-piece fastening. Drops between Kool-Ray Mounting Posts using the included hardware. Plan one section between every pair of posts; specify the section length closest to your post-to-post centre dimension.

Pair with: Kool-Ray Mounting Post w/ Cap, Aluminum Base Cover 2.5", Hex/Tec Screws (50pk), Pillar Angle Bracket (for non-90° corners).
